Welcome back! Week 16 brings our beloved NWSL back to us after an eventful Olympic break. With the majority of Olympians back with their teams, let’s see which teams can dust off the rust and come out strong for the playoff push.

Friday

7:00pm EST – Washington heads to Orlando hot off of a win in Houston and a big boost of energy as Captain Krieger came back before any other Olympian. Orlando is in serious need of points since their play has been dismal at best leading into the break. The Spirit are all alone atop the table, none of us believe that will be change after this game, even if leading scorer Banini is out for 4-6 weeks after knee surgery.

Here are our picks:

Due to Orlando having a ton of issues and Washington not seeming to miss a beat, we all went with Washington.

RJ: Washington

Chelsey: Washington

Sandra: Washington

Monica: Washington

Saturday

5:00pm EST – Seattle and Portland is always a battle. We’ll see who takes this round in the ever entertaining series.

Here are our picks:

RJ: Seattle

Chelsey: PTFC

Sandra: PTFC

Monica: Seattle

7:00pm EST – Houston will still be without Carli Lloyd, but I think that actually makes things easier on Head Coach Randy Waldrum. They had a decent game against Washington last week and will be looking to build on that momentum. Western New York will be looking to make a strong push to make the playoffs, this should be a good battle.

Here are our picks:

RJ: WNY

Chelsey: Houston

Sandra: WNY

Monica: WNY

7:00pm EST – The battle for 4th seems to be coming down to these two teams. This could prove to be the game of the week, with both teams having their international players all back and ready to go. O’Hara could prove to be a spark Sky Blue need to make it through. However, the combination of Press and McCaffery will be looking to make their own splash for Chicago.

Here are our picks:

RJ: SBFC

Chelsey: Chicago

Sandra: Chicago

Monica: Chicago

Sunday

6:00pm EST – Both Boston and FCKC are having rough seasons and neither is going to make the playoffs. This should be a battle, as neither team has anything to lose but pride.

Here are our picks:

RJ: FCKC

Chelsey: Boston

Sandra: Boston

Monica: Boston

In case you’re keeping tabs (we definitely are) here is how our prediction standings look after Week 15:

  1. RJ 31-31
  2. Sandra 29-27
  3. Chelsey 29-33
  4. Monica 18-21
